Mission In Jarabacoa, Dominican Republic
March, 2009
With five of us from the USA we worked with about 20 volunteer young adults from the Dominican Republic
Foci of mission:
1) Repaired roofs on five homes and rebuilt two sides of a small home, besides the new roof.
2) Built cement block walls around one rotten wood shack (10’ by 14’)…then tore down the inner rotten wood structure
3) Installed multiple use water filter in a nearby public school
4) Distributed about 40 single home water filters. These would be shared with nearby homes as needed.
5) Built up sense of community among the volunteers from the USA and those from the Dominican Republic.
